Campus Construction Updates

THE PLANS: 

• New Shade Structure - A shade structure is being installed in Vinewood's main courtyard. This shade structure will provide a much needed area of shade for students to enjoy lunch, learning, and activities. 
   
• New Bus Pull-In Lane - The existing bus lane will be moved from Tokay Street to Virginia Street.  Construction on this project is expected to begin during the Lodi USD fall break and will take three weeks to complete. The purpose of this is to mitigate traffic congestion and address existing safety concerns with current drop-off and pick-up routines. 
   
• Landscape Maintenance - Following a majority of the projects, new landscaping will be added to the campus. The landscaping includes 30 trees and hundreds of shrubs, bushes, and plants. This is projected to begin in late August or early September. 
   
• New Asphalt and Fresh Concrete - All of our playgrounds received new asphalt, and fresh concrete was poured on the walkways around campus. This was completed to significantly reduce tripping hazards and adhere to ADA compliance. 
   
• Parking Lot Reconfiguration - In order to mitigate traffic congestion and ensure the safety of our students and staff, the existing parking lots will be restructured. The lots will be expanded and lanes shifted to allow for continuous movement during arrival and dismissal times, and clear walkways for pedestrians. This is project is scheduled for summer 2026. 

THE PROGRESS: 

• 8/22/2025 - Shade structure columns installed. Structure expected to be completed within 2 weeks.
   
• 8/16/2025 - Temporary striping painted on primary playground (1st-3rd). 
   
• 8/12/2025 - New sod installed on the corner of Tokay St. and Virginia Ave., as well as in the TK/K playground, will need 3 weeks to set. 
   
• 8/9/2025 - Temporary striping painted on intermediate playground (4th-6th grade).
   
• 8/4/2025 - Concrete poured for the shade structure footings and will cure for 10 days. 
   
• 8/1/2025 - New classroom doors and hardware installed throughout campus. 
   
• 7/31/2025 - Concrete job progressing, 75% done. Crews waiting for shade structure and remaining concrete deliveries. 
   
• 7/10/2025 - Concrete job progressing, 30% done. 
   
• 6/26/2025 - New concrete installation in progress. Retaining wall for new garden location in progress. 
   
• 6/12/2025 - Demolition of concrete in the courtyard and playground areas. Storage containers relocated.
